What I love most about HSY is his ability to create saris that are traditional and sexy. This french chiffon sari is reminiscent of a moonlit evening. The soft green is both illuminating and refreshing.
HSY uses zardosi work (silver embroidery with small crystals embellishments) in just the right places. The blouse is made with printed silk known as jamawar with slit sleeves on which there is chunky crystal motifs.
Over the past decade, south asian fashion has seeped into mainstream culture gaining international attention and influencing the works of western fashion houses such as John Galiano, Christian Dior and Versace. This Indian and Pakistani fashion blog unveils the various styles and silhouettes that these fashion designers have created.
Ever since the age of four I have had a strong interest in Indian and Pakistani fashion. After traveling to Pakistan in 1998, I discovered the talent and artistry that was involved in this way of dress and my interest has continued to grow ever since.
