The Golden Jubilee by Manish Malhotra

Manish is the leading designer for Bollywood cinema and is considered by many to be the number one indian fashion designer.

In May 2002 London`s departmental store, Selfridges did a Bollywood festival for the summer period and it is here Manish was the only designer to also hold daily live fashion shows of his designs at the store which were very well received.

The entire festival was highly successful and gave both Bollywood and Indian fashion a
new prominence on the British cultural landscape. Even Vanity Fair magazine devoted a whole issue entitled a tribute to Bollywood.

Yes that is Indian actress Urmila. Manish is her favorite indian fashion designer.

This collection by Manish Malhotra is breathtakingly glamorous. The dresses that I have showcased are the epitome of glamourous traditional indian style. The combination of dull gold and cream creates an antique feel.

Manish's use of soft and flowy materials like raw silk, organza and chiffon enhance the elegance and delicacy of his designs. Manish's intricate work of a combination of shisha work (mirror work), beads, sequins and ribbons is spellbinding.
