The Signature Crochet Wedding Gown

“I’m a staunch patriot – I want to take Pakistan’s name in the international fashion scene. I want to show people around the world what a great heritage we have. That really is the core philosophy of my business. We want to go into the international market and prove ourselves as a Pakistani brand name.”
-Maria B.

No one does crochet like Lahori designer (Lahore city in Pakistan where there is a strong fashion scene and direct competition with Karachi designers) Maria B.

This bridal collection combines a flavor of east and west that defines perfection. There is embroidery of pearls, there is floral beadwork, there is extravagant net borders with detailed cutwork, there is layering, and yet after all that, there is still simplicity.

I have seen many pakistani and indian bridal dresses with reoccuring themes of gold work, menakshi, swarovsky crystals, and dapka work but none compares to the masterpiece of- Maria B.'s bridal crochet collection.

The first dress is a short chemise with embroidered arm bands and a classic lengha. The pink on pink work creates a subtle and subdued look of elegance.

The second dress is a more conservative style with elbow length sleeves. The white on white work gives the dress a western wedding dress feel yet the eastern design makes this dress extremely exotic. The tiny yellow flowers are scattered along the entire dress.
