Indian designer Neeta Lulla recreates the Mughal era with an array of vibrant, rich, and exquisitely detailed costumes in the epic film Jodhaa Akbar. She uses original antique jewelry for the costumes and her styles are authentically Rajastani.
The Mughal Emperor played by Hrithik Roshan wears a sharwani style chemise with Islamic motifs, a churidaar pajama (tight pants that are gathered at the ankles) and a large jewel encrusted belt with pearls, kundan and crystals.
Princess Jodhaa played by my favorite Aishwarya Rai Bachan wears short choli's, lenghas that show her ankles, chunaris that are heavily worked along the border and massive kundan and ruby chokers that is typically Rajastani.
Neeta has also designed the costumes for films like Devdas, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Taal, Kisna, and Dil Ka Rishta.
